TWO COMPANIES GO PLATINUM WITH ANNIVERSARY.
(Lancaster, PA. . .May 2003) To J. Glenn Ebersole, 2-20-20 is not an access code to save money on his long distance phone bills. But to a man who is a multi-faceted professional in the fields of marketing, public relations, management, and engineering, these numbers do have significance.
J.G. Ebersole Associates and a sister company, The Renaissance Group, were founded by Ebersole in 1982 and 1983 respectively and share two - 20th anniversaries, considered the platinum anniversary if they were marrieWhich, in some cases, they are. Like marriage, first you have to love what you do to start a business of your own, said Ebersole. My companies are both reflective of areas of my passion, interests, education and resources. I put my knowledge of how to best utilize these resources to excellent use by my clients.
Opposites do attract. At first glance, the two firms are extreme oppositesstrategic planning, marketing and public relations versus engineering and management. To a Renaissance man like Ebersole, it is these opposites that are the gateway to opportunity.
My consultancy is multi-disciplinary, stated Ebersole. I tailor and customize the approach for each client and project and act as a guide to meet needs, solve problems, and facilitate turning opportunities and dreams into reality.
Ebersole began his distinguished career in engineering, management, marketing, and public relations in 1970 with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and worked in various transportation-related departments. During his government service he traveled throughout the United Stales directing a variety of special transportation-related projects, including involvement in the marketing and public relations parts of these projects. The seed was planted in the mind of this Renaissance Man.
After his tenure in state government and experience with private consulting firms, Ebersole founded J.G. Ebersole Associates, offering Owners Project Management, Management Consulting, Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Government Consulting and Independent Project Management. It was during these projects, clients started asking Ebersole about where to find marketing and business development assistance either for these projects or other issues. The Renaissance Group was founded the next year.
The Renaissance Group is a team built from my vast network of independent professionals, experts in their own fields of marketing research, advertising, marketing, public relations, and strategic planning, he added. Our multi-disciplinary and customized approach to our clients makes us unique.
Through The Renaissance Group, Ebersole has represented several internationally known celebrities and sports personalities. An often-requested speaker in his own right at local, state, national, and international conferences across the country, he also conducts seminars on working with the media, marketing, crisis communications and public relations. Recently he was selected by the well-known marketing guru Jay Abraham to participate in a panel of public relations experts and to promote Abrahams book.
Recently Ebersole started to take note of the buzz from his clients, and started a third organization. I began to hear clients say: I know it's time to start delegating, but I'm not sure how to go about it or I'm spending too much time "putting out fires" instead of concentrating on the long range big picture for my business, or My business is growing faster than I'd planned, said Ebersole. I knew there must be a way to help these small business owners get organized and better prepared to face challenges, issues, and opportunities.
Ebersole researched and found the Alternative Board (TAB)®, a peer advisory group for owners, CEOs and managing partners of privately owned companies. Ebersole became a TAB certified Facilitator and formed a group in Lancaster. He acts as the coach and facilitator enabling a wide range of business owners to benefit from each others' experiences and insights, new approaches, and also establishes accountability to keep owners working ON the businesses instead of just IN it.
Each TAB Board contains members from non-competing companies, so members can discuss the real issues of their business in complete confidentiality, he stated. Even though members are from different industries, 75-to-80% of all challenges facing small-to-mid-sized business are the same regardless of the industry or topic, from human resource issues, marketing, sales or achieving balance in business life.
A native of Lancaster, PA, Ebersole, a Registered Professional Engineer in five states, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering Degree in Engineering Science from the Pennsylvania State University. He is listed in Who's Who In The East; Who's Who In Finance & Industry; Who's Who Of Emerging Leaders in America; Who's Who In Advertising; Who's Who in Science and Engineering; Who's Who In America; and Who's Who In The World.
